This trekking challenge takes you on a three day jungle trek in western Cambodia at the northern edge of the Cardamom Mountains near the border of Thailand through a region of natural beauty, steeped in bloody history.
Jungle trekking into Cardamom Mountains of Pailin
You will be camping under the canopy of the trees with a hammock, mosquito net and canvas as your home for the duration of your jungle trek. This is not just an amazingly unique experience but an educational one. Following the fall of the Pol Pot in 1979, the Khmer Rouge took to the Cardamom Mountains and continued to fight until Pailin in 1996 was reintegrated into the Government of Cambodia and came into peace in 1998. Many villagers here lost their lives. The region remained closed to tourists for decades, but has recently opened up.
In this video, we show you the very best of the beautiful Cardamom Mountains and the abundant wildlife and nature that goes with it. Not long ago this area was a war zone and since, has not been touched, so it really is a unique experience.
