Exploring Cambodia
Want to explore Cambodia? Traveling from Pailin to Koh Kong province in itself is an adventure. You can access the country back road by dirt-bike via Samlot, and Veal Veng then Koh Kong which will take approximately four hours. The landscape, natural lakes and waterfalls along this back-country road are beautiful. Progress is being made on a new route, and in the near future there will be a new road built along the Cambodia-Thai border to make Pailin and Koh Kong a shorter journey between the two towns. This new route is approximately 90km directly from Pailin to Koh Kong. Progress so far has already completed more than 50kms of road.
A must see place in Cambodia
Similar to the adventurous back-country route, along this new route the landscape is stunning and there are many outdoor activities you can do along the way, see the otter habitats, waterfalls and Anlong Khiev or Blue Lake.
While much of Cambodia boasts of being home to the world’s top historical and ancient sites of antiquity, Pailin offers something different for adventurers. Pailin’s increasing attraction as an eco-tourism and agro-tourism destination is due to the abundance of natural beauty and places for outdoor activities.
Pailin and the immediate surrounding area is home to Cambodia’s most stunning mountains, pristine waterfalls, gemstones, rich green forests, abundant wildlife, coffee plantations, pepper farms, among other crops. Anlong Khiev is an expansive lake of 20m depth, with clear clean blue pristine waters. This lake is a hidden gem, the third largest natural lake in Cambodia and is very rarely visited. Its nature and wildlife must be on your list of adventures and trekking. Anlolng Khiev is a must see place in Cambodia!
