Why Visiting Pailin
Pailin is often overlooked. It lacks of tourism promotion or attention, and it lacks the obvious Cambodian outplays: no golden beaches, no capital city buzz, no Angkor Wat, no pub street. But then neither does it suffer from jammed traffic, coach loads of tourists, or hordes of touts of expats.
Pailin province is in western Cambodia at the northern edge of the Cardamom Mountains. It is a Thailand border province – local people are friendly, it is a land of ecotourism and agro-tourism, interesting without being overwhelming.
Pailin has many things you can do. Visiting cultural sites, Phnom Yat, Wat Ratanak Sophoan, seeing authentic gemstone processing along Ba Yakha River, orchard walks in fruits farms, and you can go trekking to experience beautiful nature and wildlife. You can witness the gemstone mining by local people or do gem mining yourself along Ba Yakha as you may never know when your luck will come and you can leave with fond memories.
Pailin is home of mountains and waterfalls. You can even spend your day visiting different pristine waterfalls with your friends and families. Pailin has a beautiful landscape for photography and viewing. The Cardamom Mountains is green and very natural so you can do trekking or adventure in the vicinity and immerse yourself in wildlife watching.
Orchard Walks
