Trees Planting in August at Memoria Palace & Resort at Pailin
It is that time of year again. Starting from 30 August 2016, to 30 November 2016, Memoria Palace & Resort will host its annual tree planting. Memoria Palace & Resort, together with our guests, will plant 1,000 trees native to the Cardamom Mountains throughout the fifteen beautiful and lush resort grounds.
We here at Memoria Palace & Resort believe in respecting nature, and being mindful stewards of what we are given. The tree planting not only helps beautify the property, trees that we will plant will also contribute to reducing carbon dioxide to help create a more pristine, clean and green environment, in keeping with our commitment to eco-tourism in Cambodia.
Afzelia xylocarpa can reach 30 metres tall with a trunk up to 2 metres in diameter in a mature specimen. The seeds are harvested for medicinal purposes. The seed pulp can be used to make cigarettes, and the bark and seed are used for herbal medicine. The afzelia xylocarpa tree (also known as pahudia cochinchinensis), found throughout Southeast Asia, and produces a multipurpose wood, can reach heights of 30 meters with a truck diameter of two meters. The seeds are harvested for medicinal purposes. The seed pulp can be used to make cigarettes, and the bark and seed are used for herbal medicine.
